Abbotsford bodybuilder ends career with victory

Mark Bains, 58, wins top prizes in two divisions at Vancouver Pro / Am and Expo

Abbotsford bodybuilder Mark Bain ended his competitive sports career on a high note on December 21.

The 58-year-old took first place in the Canadian Physics Alliance’s 50+ Open division at the Vancouver Pro / Am and Expo bodybuilding event at the Massey Theater in New Westminster.

Bain’s very first show took place in the same theater in 1984.

Bain was seven years older than all the other competitors in the 50+ division, and he was also recognized for his terrific physique by winning the 40+ division title.

“It was his last hurray and now he hopes he can inspire and help others achieve their fitness goals as a mentor and coach,” said his wife Sandy Bain.
