Carson City Partnership rounds up prescription drugs this Saturday | News from Carson City, Nevada

To support the benefits of proper drug disposal, Partnership Carson City will be hosting the Bi-Annual Drug Collection this Saturday, October 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at four locations in Carson City. Bring unused or expired prescription drugs and sharps (syringes) to any of these locations in Carson City:

– Save Mart Supermarkets, located at 3620 N. Carson Street
– Save Mart Supermarkets, 4348 S. Carson Street

– Smith’s Food & Drug Store, at 559 E. William St.
– FoodMaxx, at 3325, highway 50 East

This event is designed to protect vulnerable populations in the community through teaching and education on the proper disposal of unused or expired prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, prescription fluids, pet medications pets, sharps (syringes) and more. The effort is part of the federal drug collection initiative.

Bring the syringes in a sealed hard plastic or tin container. Tablets should be brought in a bottle or plastic bag.

Home drug disposal kits are also available. The kits provide an option for proper disposal at home and are safe for waste disposal. Additionally, drug lock boxes are available as well as medical and commercial cannabis lock bags, both of which are free.
