We all have our favorite chocolate. From those who love a Lindt ball to those who love a block of Cadbury fruit and nuts, walking down the chocolate aisle of the local supermarket is to catch a glimpse of those customers next to you. There are the questionable milk chocolate allegiances and the more sophisticated palettes that never eat more than 90 percent dark, but each to their own taste. For vegans, however, the quest for the right chocolate is much more difficult because until recently few brands sought to deliver to this ever-growing consumer base. But now things are looking up and for one of the biggest chocolate brands in the world, a new vegan chocolate bar is on the way.
Cadbury has announced the launch of its very first vegan chocolate bar in the UK. Although it has not yet been revealed if the chocolate will be marketed in other countries as well, we believe it will only be a matter of time as more and more people are looking for vegan products – even chocolate. . The new chocolate bar will be called Cadbury Plant Bar and comes in two flavors: smooth chocolate and smooth chocolate with salted caramel chunks. Both will be made from a mixture of cocoa, marzipan and rice extract.
With the launch of its vegan chocolate bar, Cadbury is now catching up with its competitors who have also released vegan iterations of their famous chocolate. In a statement, the company admitted to falling behind by not launching vegan chocolate sooner. “Dear Herbal Britain, we are sorry. Sorry, it took so long. Sorry, it looks like we didn’t listen to your calls, sorry we couldn’t respond to the rumors. And sorry for all the other chocolates you must have eaten while you waited.
Cadbury added: “We hope you will agree it was worth the wait.”
This is a sentiment shared by Michael Moore, Marketing Director at Cadbury. He said: “We are delighted to finally confirm that the rumors circulating around the Cadbury Plant Bar are true! We’ve worked hard to add this delicious, dairy-free option to our iconic line-up, and we can only apologize for keeping our fans waiting.
Moore continued, “Ensuring that we live up to our commitment to great flavor has taken a while, but as of November the wait is over.”
The vegan chocolate bar comes after a survey from Veganuary found that those on plant-based diets were hungry for a vegan version of Cadbury’s chocolate, which isn’t too surprising given that for many people, it’s their favorite brand. Researchers gave respondents a list of chocolate and cheese snacks next to the question they would most like to see ‘veganized’ and more than a quarter voted for Cadbury’s Dairy Milk, making it the option. most voted according to Herbal News.
The new Cadbury Plant Bar will be available in the UK in November. We keep our fingers crossed that the vegan chocolate bar doesn’t take too long to cross the Atlantic and make it to Australian stores. Until then, for all international travelers or those based in the UK, let us know the verdict of the new Cadbury chocolate addition.
