Here Is The Cheat Meal Bodybuilder Chris Bumstead Ate After Mr. Olympia Win

When you train for a bodybuilding competition, you leave nothing to chance, especially if that competition is Mr Olympia. The famous competition is perhaps one of the best-known on the sporting calendar and for those who participate, few bodybuilding competitions eclipse its prestige. In the past, bodybuilding icons like Frank Zane, Ronnie Coleman and Arnold Schwarzenegger have been seen participating, all of whom have won the coveted Sandow Trophy, as such victories have catapulted their names into the limelight. However, winning a title at Mr. Olympia is no small feat. It takes months of dedication and hard work, with an insightful eye for training, recovery, and diet.

Having rare insight into what it takes to be a bodybuilder training for an event like Mr. Olympia, Chris Bumstead shared a YouTube video showing what his daily menu entailed when setting up for competition. Bumstead was consuming just 3,800 calories over five meals while training hard, and the meals focused only on protein and carbohydrates. Things like oatmeal, blueberries, chicken breast, stir-fries, and white rice were regulars on his daily meal plan, along with sweet potato and asparagus. Bumstead was rigorous about eating clean and it paid off: he has been named the Classic Physique winner of the Mr Olympia bodybuilding competition for the third year in a row now.

But when you have been so disciplined for so long, surely there is cause for celebration in the end? Turns out, Bumstead isn’t the type to shy away from a cheat day and instead of winning he went all out for an epic cheat meal. Discussing his win after the win in another YouTube video, Bumstead’s day begins with a (literally) champions breakfast. He digs into a wrap with egg whites, turkey, mushrooms, spinach and a fruit side, a chocolate chip pancake, pumpkin pancake and coffee.

Seeking to satisfy his sweet tooth, he goes to a number of different places, but runs out of their supply of pastries. For lunch, Bumstead settles for a whole wheat turkey sub and admits, “If you ask what’s my favorite food?” Sandwich.”

He then eats freshly baked banana bread and cookies donated by his girlfriend, Courtney King, who is also the Olympia champion after winning the bikini category in 2016. For dinner, he likes pizza, anything. that he hasn’t had for over a year. It fills the base with vegan cheese, grilled chicken, pepperoni, green peppers, onions, garlic and oregano.

While you may want to see some desserts included, it’s also fair to say that Bumstead did pretty well considering he endured months on a strict diet. Although he calls it a day after pizza, he promises to engage in a “more aggressive” cheat menu at some point in the future, when his body has had a chance to adjust to eating it. larger quantities and varieties of food. It turns out that it can be as difficult to break the cycle of clean eating as it is to break these unhealthy habits.
