Veteran bodybuilder Nunurai Masosonere is set to defend his Marume Classic title on October 1 at the Zimbabwe College of Music.
The veteran Hulk will be the star attraction of the event which will mark its fourth anniversary.
The current Marume Classic Senior Men’s Bodybuilding Champion will face competition from current Ironman Champion and 2018 Marume Classic winner Gideon Teguru and 2012 African Championships Junior Men’s Bodybuilding Champion Noah Dzvokora.
Joseph Luquembo and the evergreen Genius Gwara are also expected to take the stage in what is sure to be an epic battle.
“We’ve put on a bigger and better event,” said four-time national champion Givemore Marume, who owns the show.
“The strength wars and fitness challenges will be awesome,” added the soft-spoken legendary bodybuilder.
Veteran administrator Keith Chirimanzi, who is also part of the organizing team, emphasizes standards. “We need to make sure the athletes are respected throughout the event as they are the main attraction,” said the veteran administrator.
Judging will be to IFBB standards and athletes are assured that every judge who will do the assignment is a trained judge.
“Our goal is to ensure that the athlete is respected,” said lead event consultant Quiet Shangai, who is also the general secretary of the NFZBBF.
“Our main objective is to respect the athlete. This is the resolution of the NFZBBF board and it will mainly inform our system design going forward,” Shangai said.
