Srinagar, October 18: Srinagar based bodybuilder Waseem Jan from Khanyar won the Mr. Kashmir 2022 title while Mir Yasir from Parimpora won the Mr. Men’s Physique 2022 title at the Kashmir Bodybuilding and Men’s Physique Sports Championship held at Tagore Srinagar Hall on Tuesday. Around 45 participants took part in the Srinagar bodybuilding championship while 92 participants took part in the Kashmir bodybuilding championship across the Kashmir valley.

According to Kashmir Bodybuilding Association Secretary General Feroz Shah, two championships, the 16th Kashmir Body Building and 5th Men’s Physique sports and the 2nd Srinagar Body Building and 2nd Men’s Physique sports, were successfully held at Tagore Hall Srinagar during the week. last.

Srinagar-based bodybuilder Wasim was declared ‘Mr. Kashmir 2022’, ‘Mr. Srinagar 2022’ and awarded a cash prize of Rs. 45,000 and Mir Yasir was declared ‘Men’s Physical Sports Championship’ in the Kashmir and Srinagar championships and received Rs. 25,000 cash prizes. KBBA General Secretary Feroz Shah inaugurated the event while Lakshay SP South was the main guest, he distributed the prizes among the players. Waseem Jan, 33, is from Khanyar region in Srinagar district while Mir Yasir, 25, is from Parimpora Srinagar. Speaking to Rising Kashmir, Waseem Jan said he started bodybuilding in 2012 since then he has achieved some big milestones.

“I was physically very weak in my childhood. My dad encouraged me to do bodybuilding so I signed up and I keep getting better with every passing day,” he said. He says that from the start of his bodybuilding, he saw a drastic improvement in his physique and he appeared in various competitions where he won several medals. “I won the Mr. Kashmir title for two consecutive years in 2021, 2022 and the Mr. Srinagar title in 2021 while also winning the overall title and the champion title in 2021,” he said. he declares.

He said, “It is a proud moment for me to win the Mr. Kashmir title consecutively for two consecutive years.” He adds that he is now aiming for the title of Mr. India. He says he self-sponsored because bodybuilding is a very expensive game. Mir Yasir says it was his debut in Men’s Physique that worked in his favor as he worked hard for this competition.

“I started my bodybuilding career at the age of 15 after my father wanted me to go into bodybuilding. He is a bodybuilder himself,” he said. He said that he was very excited about winning the title of Mr. Men’s Physique and that he is now eyeing up the title of Mr. India,” he said. respective ages to ultimately compete in the overall titles.

The event was organized by the Kashir Bodybuilding Association J&K (KBBA, J&K) and the District Bodybuilding Association (DBBASK) in conjunction with the J&K Sports Council.
