Chris Hemsworth is one of the best working actors in Hollywood, perhaps second only to The Rock for his dedication to his workouts. And in the most recent workout video on his Instagram, it becomes clear that it runs in the family. To celebrate Father’s Day (which takes place today in Australia), Hemsworth invited his father Craig to exercise.
“I just had a really fun training session with my dad, I thought I was going to teach him a thing or two,” he says in the video, “but it turns out the old dog has a few tricks up his sleeve.”
The workout, taken from Hemsworth’s Centr fitness app, consists of a number of exercises designed to be performed with a training partner:
- 12 bicep curls
- 10 push-up claps
- 10 meter farmer portage
- 20 x medicine ball pass
- 10 x throwing medicine ball front squat
Hemsworth reflected on the role fitness and sport played in her relationship with her father in the post’s caption, writing:
“Some of my fondest memories from my childhood are training with my dad. I used to compete in the 110m hurdles but didn’t have enough space to train because we lived on top of “a very steep hill. My dad built me a single wooden obstacle and I used the 15 meter fairway which we had to practice over and over again. Just him and me until the sun went down in having fun, laughing. Got 2 state medals with his help. Here we are 25 years later, still laughing and still moving. Happy Father’s Day, champ.”
