Snacks are often not recommended when looking to lose weight because snacks tend to be processed and high in calories. However, it can help lean people stay on track, and Dr Mosley has shared some healthy snack ideas.
Limiting high carbohydrate and high sugar snacks can help with weight loss and keep leaners on track.
One food that Dr. Mosley recommends is miso soup.
He said, “At 21 calories per serving, miso soup is very nutritious, warming, flavorful and comforting.
“It’s a great way to refuel between meals. It is also very convenient to put a sachet in a work bag, because all you need to do is add boiling water.
Slimming products could also make a homemade dip to accompany vegetable sticks or a low-fat hummus.
For those with a sweet tooth, berries are a great snack option.
Blueberries are not only high in antioxidants, but they’re also very low in calories, making them the perfect snack for anyone looking to lose weight.
Dr Mosley explained that a 100g serving of blueberries contains around 57 calories.
He added, “Nuts are a great source of protein and fiber. However, I would advise avoiding salty or sweet nuts, which can be more greedy.
“Two almonds equate to 28 calories while seven walnut halves equate to 90 calories.”
While nuts may seem high in calories, they can keep you fuller for longer, which means you can eat less.
Dr Mosley also advised thin people to brush their teeth as soon as they have had their last meal of the day.
He explained that it will help to avoid all the tempting snacks.
